High Mercury Counts Found in Sharks.

“There could be fewer than 100 breeding females left,” said Geoff Shester, the California program director of Oceana, an international group focused on protecting the world’s oceans. “Numbers in this range are lower than most species currently listed as endangered.”
Environmentalists said they filed their petition late Friday, but the federal National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration could not yet confirm the submission when contacted Saturday.
If granted, the designation could lead to changes in fishing practices and could spur research aimed at restoring the population, said Jim Milbury, a spokesman for the federal agency.
Oceana prepared the petition, along with the Center for Biological Diversity and the group Shark Stewards.
“The main threat we are concerned about is bycatch of white shark pups off Southern California and across the border into Mexico, primarily in entangling gill net fisheries targeting halibut, yellowtail, swordfish, thresher sharks and white sea bass,” Shester said in an email.
In addition, young great whites off the Southern California coast have “the second-highest mercury level on record for any sharks worldwide, six times higher than levels shown to cause physiological harm to other ocean fish,” said Ashley Blacow, a policy and communications coordinator for Oceana. The sharks also had liver tissue with high levels of the contaminants PCB and DDT.

CRAP or constipation may be de ined as infrequent or incomplete bowel movements that are often hard, dry and difficult to pass.

Conventional medical realms may consider it “normal” to have a healthy bowel movement as infrequently as three times per week. In most holistic practices the normal range of bowel movements to be one to three per day.

Unfortunately due to the poor eating habits of Americans, toxins in our air, soils, and water, our transit time for food to digest and become excreted has slowed
dramatically. In fact the average transit from food in the mouth to waste out the other end takes an average of 72 hours. When waste transit time is slow, it decays and ferments producing poisonous chemicals that get reabsorbed into
the body. This creates conditions for overgrowth of bad and putrefied bacteria that can have damaging effects on the entire body and increases health problems.

Studies suggest that constipation may indirectly cause estrogen to be reabsorbed. Elevated estrogens can give rise to various cancers. Colon cancer is highest in the U.S. as compared to the rest of the world. Toxins created in the constipated bowel damage digestive enzymes that are vital for absorption of various nutrients. The walls of the colon may weaken and become herniated possibly creating diverticulosis.

Increased exposure to toxins in the colon will stress the gallbladder, pancreas and liver, and may increase gas formation and change in gas pressure, which can lead to esophageal damage from reflux (acid reflux disease). The average person carries a load of 2 – 25 pounds of excess waste/toxins in the colon.

The extra load of toxins creates an overall strain on the entire immune system making the person vulnerable to a host of chronic and ongoing illness.


Standard Medical Treatment:

Most mainstream allopathic views consider the cause of constipation to be merely a lack in fiber and commonly recommend the use of fiber supplements and an
increase in dietary fiber. If you follow this standard advice, add bran fiber to your diet slowly, because adding bran fiber too rapidly can cause increased gas, bloating, and actually create constipation. The use of laxatives in the U.S. is astronomical.  The overuse of laxatives is actually a cause of constipation.
Habitual use interferes with normal reflex of the intestines, and leads to loss of important nutrients and water.

While lack of dietary fiber is generally agreed upon as a major cause of constipation, some published studies show that a significant number of constipated people do not find relief from fiber  upplementation.

Over consumption of caffeine inhibits water uptake in the colon,
and therefore slows transit time of waste. Dehydration is one of the most overlooked causes of illness. Widespread use of over the counter and prescription drugs contributes to constipation. The most prescribed prescription medication
is the “little purple pill” used to cover up our “gut” feelings. Impaired digestion is a beginning of a series of problems that ultimately lead to chronic disease and
needs to be addressed as to the cause. Covering it all up has put Americans at high risk of earlier onset of disease.

Excessive toxins in the water, air, soils and general environment (inside and out) has created an overload that our bodies can no longer efficiently fight off with out some help. Bigger Badder Food Sells Better

   Consumers say they want healthier options, but the Big Bad Food still sells better! (according to a USA today report last month.) The biggest seller is the 1,420 calorie Monster Thickburger sold at Carls Jr.

   When Americans eat out, the goal is to… indulge. “Healthy eating isn’t a trend. It’s a slow creep,” says Ron Paul, president of a research firm called Technomic.  “Most people would rather take a pill than change eating habits.” That supports the fact that some of the most popular fast food restaurants are adding bigger badder foods to their menus… such as Burger King’s Enormous Omelet sandwich with 2 slices of cheese, three strips of bacon and a sausage patty, and 2 eggs. That whopping 730-calorie breakfast item is a hot seller. BK sells about 100 Whoppers for every Veggie Burger, and about 10 Whoppers to every salad.

     IHOP is stuffing their foods. The pancake chain is promoting Stuffed French Toast – filled with sweetened cream cheese... loaded up with fat and sugar! The chain says that less than 1% of guests “show any meaningful interest” in better- for- you foods. Ben & Jerry’s dropped all three of its NO-Carb ice cream flavors and have introduced a wider cone that can hold two scoops instead of one. Marketing director David Stever says “We don’t have better-for-youfood customers, we have full-fat customers who may feel guilty once in a great while.”

    Pizza Hut got even cheesier with its new Triple cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza. It took in 20% of the chains business within four days of introduction. The chain sells less than 1 lower calorie Fit N’Delicious pizza
for every 100-pan pizzas. Recently media has portrayed that the public is looking to eat healthier foods, however the proof is in the sales of BIGGER BADDER FOODS… and Americans are eating tons of it. The most popular menu item ordered by men at restaurants last year was Hamburgers. (Reported by the NPD group which tracks consumer eating habits.) French Fries ranks second. Women were reported that the opposite was true in favorite foods… French fries being #1 and burgers to follow. Pizza is ranked #3
by men and women. Even in the age of a better-educated dining public, consumers are choosing the highest in fat, sugar and salt. “Americans have always had the means to eat healthier, but they do not have the will,” says
Harry Balzer, VP of the NPD. Even though this diet is killing us… we still choose to eat this way.

WHY YOU CRAVE A BURGER!
